Posted: 13 Aug 2020 07:39 AM PDT Hey y'all, reviewed the subs guidelines and I'm pretty this is an allowable discussion... If not, mods do your thing. I am starting to look for a long term new games that I can grow with like I did with PAD. Currently playing One Punch Man v. 2.0 and it is underwhelming. Taking a quick look it seems I have tried and deleted at some point the following; Another Eden, no memory of this game. Arknights, no memory of this game The seven deadly sins (not sure why this game got such rave reviews... The anime is boring and 2 dimensional and the game is mostly errands) Mass for the dead, can't remember why I deleted this. The opening was fun if I remember so maybe the gameplay sucked? Destiny child, can't remember... Maybe loading issues Shin megami, can't remember... Fate/grand, can't remember Fire emblem... Was fun but I think I was too busy to give it a chance. Gungho should just give reni and the dadguide guy jobs so its official. Posted: 13 Aug 2020 01:41 PM PDT I forget the dad guys name or if its just 1 person. Might be tactical retreat, or maybe thats the guy who works on the mirubot. In any case I hope they address the issue in some way. What's was the real problem. I read the official mandate or whatever but they were also saying you can just make a new dadguide thing but just without having the name dadguide it seemed if you got permission from IOS? How can there even be any hope something like that would happen with worries theres would get taken down as well? Was it a problem with dad guide specially. Was his constant mapping of dungeon moves and mechanisms somehow about to break the roll rate algorithms? I hope they release a separate official statement soon and not just that letter [link] [comments]

What does an official source of gameplay information look like? Posted: 13 Aug 2020 01:01 AM PDT So with the end of life announcement for DadGuide, another highly valuable unofficial source of gameplay information is gone (or will be gone) and even though I never had to use it, I understand that many who did use it must be feeling frustrated. Some of that frustration comes from GungHo's lack of own official sources of comprehensive gameplay info (for PAD) and i'm sure many people would love it if they were to provide one. But what would an official source of gameplay information look like? To provide some background info, i've been playing Summons Board (サモンズボード) for a while now, and Summons Board is one of GungHo's other mobile gacha games, which is where some of the monsters in the GungHo collab are derived from, it's also strictly a JP/CN only game (as far as i'm aware). So what's the point in bringing up one of GungHo's other games? Well Summons Board actually has an official source of gameplay information! Which I will link here below: The website is in Japanese and most of it is for maintenance notices and game-related news, but they have a section towards the bottom of the page that is dedicated for providing info relating to the actual gameplay mechanics. Here's a quick google translated screenshot of that portion for convenience: It's pretty much a list of quick help links that can help you to learn the gameplay mechanics and familiarize yourself with them. These include:
With this type of information I am able to know exactly how my team/leader/subs behave in any given dungeon, I can easily calculate how much damage my skills will do, how much damage I will take based on my leader's damage reduction or defensive buffs or subattributes or all of the above. I know what dangerous buffs to look out for on enemy spawns, and so on. This isn't a perfect resource either, but it's still something I can use to know how certain skills or abilities will interact and whether or not I can survive a hit or not, and more importantly this is an official source of gameplay-related information which significantly reduces (but does not completely eliminate) my dependency on third-party tools/databases/wikis to understand how the game even works. I personally think that the players of PAD could benefit from an official source of gameplay-related information such as this, and the reason I highlighted Summons Board in particular is precisely because it is one of GungHo's very own games, while the development teams may not be the same, I will stand by my opinion that this is definitely within their capacity, though they likely will not develop a tool that is one-to-one in comparison with something like DadGuide or MiruBot. Anyways, this is just my personal experience and opinion on the matter. I welcome you to share yours. **The info on individual dungeons is not as comprehensive as something like PuzzleDragonX, it's more like a small hint or some dungeon-specific advice, but to be fair they design these dungeons with the intent that you play them multiple times trying to figure them out, so I don't think it's in their best interest to spell out every single thing the dungeon will throw at you, the difference in Summons Board is that you can long-tap on enemies to see what skill they use and where it will hit but only after it has used said skill at least once, this makes it easier to predict what enemies will do and avoid it, but doesn't trivialize the dungeon either. Posted: 12 Aug 2020 06:10 PM PDT I realize nobody will likely care, but here goes. I've been playing this game since I was 2013, when my friend introduced me to it in middle school. I remember when Okuninushi was really good, when Meimei and Sakuya were good, when Izanagi was great. I remember pulling Golems from the REM. I remember Killua Zoldyck being one of, if not the best leads in the game and hoping he would come to NA. I remember Ra Dragon and DAthena rising up and taking over. Hell, I remember when TylerPAD stopped making videos (still miss him...). I logged in every day from 2013-2016. Until PAD Guide shut down. PAD Guide was the only resource available, and it was great. But it shut down, and my interest went away. I couldn't see the cool new cards coming to NA in a few months, I couldn't see dungeons, nothing. Along with PAD Guide dying, so did Puzzle and Dragons X (the database). They didn't add any new monster data (or they just stopped keeping up with it) and it just...died. I remember around 2013-15 when a new monster was added, there would be tons of comments talking about how good the monster looked (or how bad), how good it was (or wasn't), and Jerry. Nowadays, there's not really anything. Nobody votes on monsters, nobody comments. There's no teams recommended for dungeons anymore. it just feels...empty. Dead. And then in 2018 I got back in, and realized that Dad Guide was there. It was great to have a resource. As time has gone on, the game has gotten harder and harder to go through blind as there are so many mechanics counterable by only one skill or awakening that it's pretty much a necessity to know what's in the dungeon. I've enjoyed playing from 2018 onwards, but with the new announcement of Dad Guide and Miru shutting down, I feel this may be it. I've felt like the NA game has been on its deathbed ever since most of the resources died, and I feel that now might honestly be the time to let it rest. [link] [comments]
