I've been thinking what to spend my stones on in the upcoming weeks/months. I am a huge Persona fan and would definitely roll in that collab. But that won't be before September I guess. I know DMC comes up tomorrow and I would love to get Dante but am thinking about trading for him because the collab seems to have bad rates. So my question is: What do you think is coming up for NA that's worth it? Currently got 150 Stones and the PAD Pass (so ~3 Stones/day). | How many rolls do you need to get a diamond in DMC. Posted: 12 Jul 2020 12:17 PM PDT Some of you are extremely excited about DMC coming tomorrow. But math and rates might be hard for you to wrap your minds around, and your expectations for your diamonds might be an overestimation of what you'll get. So here's an easy way to imagine 12.5% diamond rates. 12.5% is 1/8. So roughly 1 in 8 rolls will come out as a diamond. So when you keep getting 7+ useless golds in a roll, that's normal. If you get more than 1 diamond in 8 rolls, congrats! You have better than average luck. If you get lots of golds, don't come to us and complain; there were already lots of warnings that this is a "buy bundle, trade, and leave" event. (Disclaimer: this is not saying that you are guaranteed a diamond in 8 rolls. Probability calculations predict that in 8 rolls, you only have 65.639% chance to get a diamond in those 8 rolls.) TDLR: You're going to get a ton of gold fodder before you get a diamond. Prepare yourself enough stones to roll at least 8 times for average rates. [link] [comments] | ||

Im the type of person that likes to try new teams and im always making teams even if they dont work. | PAD History — Collabs, the meta, revenue management Posted: 11 Jul 2020 09:17 PM PDT What is the correlation between the profile of a collab and the likelihood that it will be meta-defining for a reasonable period? And what drives that? Been thinking about collabs a bit recently and the thread on DMC reminded me. I hope that some of you who know more about how these things work might let me know if I am way off here. Starting in, maybe, 2017, there was a series of collabs a few months apart which sequentially redefined the meta. Full Metal Alchemist (Ed), Monster Hunter (equips introduced, otherwise Diablos mostly, Amatsu), Final Fantasy (Tifa, Yuna, Cecil, Lightning, Cloud, Sephiroth, AND pixels introduced), Hello Kitty (ZKitty). Equally there were many which emphatically did not- Crows, Shinrabansho, DC/Justice League, MtG (Jhoira excepted) Yu Yu Hakusho etc. More recently of course a string of collabs are or have been meta-defining: Samurai Shodown to some extent, most notably Yu-Gi-Oh, and although RIP N.A., Disney. [Edit— as pointed out I forgot Yusuke in YYH bc I didn't get him & and I repressed memories of watching ppl in 3p oneshot Lovecraft monstersI couldn't kill in UDR. Also Vraska but screw MtG I have 4 Serra Angels and 1 Shivan Dragon.] I am assuming that to do a collab, a 3rd party has to fork over a bunch of cash to GungHo. A collab is basically very high-grade embedded advertising. I've spent money on other games which I had never heard of before after a PaD collab. The most meta-defining collabs have been from big, big franchises or companies, esp those with strong audience overlap. MH, FF, Hello Kitty, Disney and Yugi are complete behemoths, financially, easily in the top 20 grossing franchises of all time. So how likely do you think it is that GungHo has a pricelist, of, say, weighted stat tiers, or mechanics to introduce, at different star levels? The top rarity of Yugi have 1750 weighted stats! Before that, the highest weighted cards by far were MH. Alternatively, collabs might pay to introduce a new mechanic or counter. I think Yugi was the first transforms, just after Fagan RAI was released, Shaman King first round might have been the first VDP counter (Hao) right after Akine, and Samurai Shodown had I think the first AutoFUA (Haomaru), 3rd round MH kind of started the tank meta (along with MA Skuld). The more the franchise pays, the longer GungHo can promise in exchange to make sure they stay meta. The final twist, though, is that GH realised what a cash cow collabs were and started competing with their own clients, effectively pushing 3rd parties to spend more and more to keep up as the pace of meta change increased. First Heroines (Mel, Ilmina, Romia, etc), then GH collab, which gave us Raizer (first <50% lead?) and DKarin and DZeta. Then DBDC (countless firsts, like triple killers and 37c and then 47c), then Great Witches (each witch ruptured the meta a bit, but Zela most of all) and then Ancient Sacred Dragons or whatever, then new transform Witches. And then seasonals, which used to be kind of cute, game-spirit affairs, became also high-end whale bait (summer BJ, BVeroah, Academy Valeria, NY Reeche, BZela, VIdeal, HCotton etc). Seasonals are still crappy value, but the chase cards do end up mattering and staying the meta for a long time. This way franchise partners have to cough up even more $$$ for their advertising to be as effective as it used to be. Even pairing things like Fagan right before Yugi and Akine right before Hao, GH gets a foot in the door so no one franchise has a lock for too long. Does this sound plausible to anyone? Along with GH's successful efforts since mid 2019 to boost revenues by giving more stuff away, I think this goes some way to explaining GH's return to apparent stability, along with giving concrete reasons for the increased pace of powercreep/leap. | Posted: 12 Jul 2020 08:00 AM PDT New Year's Aurora Reeche's leader skill says when you attack with 4 attributes you get 9.5x attack. That shows on the board and makes sense! But for instance Reincarnated Shiva's leader skill says flat 5x damage boost and then when you hit 4 combos he adds the 3.5x that shows on the board. I am confused. Also not only is there a multiplier that shows on the board when you're combo'ing there's another mid dungeon when your team attacks right over their head which can go nutty with the numbies!
