    With all the experience multiplier dungeons and Reddit posts about farming rank experience, I thought it was worth writing this post. I wanted to lay out the cost and benefits of ranking up in the game, in the hopes that new to mid-game players can think more critically about how they rank up, and how quickly. This is based on my opinions and experience, and I welcome any discussion, disagreements or feedback.

    *Note: Due to the purpose of this post, I'll be focusing above rank 250.

    TL;DR: The benefits of ranking past about level 500 are not really worth the extra experience needed to rank.

    Let's start with what you get for reaching certain ranks. It's worth noting that most of these rewards are not time sensitive, you will get them eventually. The only exception are things like the Memorial egg machines, which do get reset periodically.

    - An extra team slot for each 100 ranks. This is actually quite a benefit, but 100 ranks is a lot to get each additional one

    - An additional 1 max stamina each 2 ranks

    - Rank 500 - Memorial REM (Carnival Exclusives)

    - Rank 555 - 5th Anniversary Tamadra (55,555 Monster Points)

    - Rank 700 - Memorial REM (6* GFE/pantheon)

    - Rank 800 - Memorial REM (7* GFE)

    In addition, a new Rank Maniacs achievement was just announced in Japan, with the following rewards:

    600: Rainbowpy

    700: Super Snowglobe

    800: Diamond Dragon Fruit

    900: Trigod mask

    1000: Latent Slot Tamadra & "Rank Exp +10%" Badge

    Most of the rewards are fairly replaceable, with the extra team slots and max stamina arguably being the most valuable.

    Now for the costs. There are two ways to refresh your stamina: ranking up, and spending a magic stone. GungHo releases many high-value event dungeons that are well worth running as much as you can while they are available. This brings us to chain ranking, or the ability to continuously play certain content and have the experience provided result in a rank up before your stamina runs out. For example, the highest tier of the current GungHo collaboration event, one of the best for getting Pys, costs 50 stam (25 in coop) and gives approximately 34K rank experience. By Rank 400, you lose the ability to chain rank this dungeon in coop without running something else as well to rank.

    Another example is the REMdra Fever events, which give amazing rewards, and many people grind out for a crown. For the last event, at 30 stam per run and an average of about 60K rank experience, it can no longer be chain ranked around rank 480. That means figuring out when to go run something else to rank up and continue the event.

    The most common dungeon for mid-game ranking experience is the Monday dungeon. At 25 stam in coop and with double Saline leads, it yields approximately 194K rank experience. At rank 912, spending all your stamina in there would no longer provide a rank up (and if being used to fill in the extra experience needed while running something else, that rank threshold is considerably lower).

    Looking at the chart here, you can see that after approximately rank 930, the experience needed to rank up increases exponentially. At that point, you are essentially forced to spend a magic stone to continue playing.

    Conclusion:

    Ranking is a normal part of the game, and shouldn't be something to focus on or stress about. However, after a certain point, you lose the ability to just play the content you want, and have to start considering when, from where and how much supplemental experience you need in order to keep playing. This is even something to consider for the common "Experience of a Lifetime" events, where my personal approach is to save them until I need a rank up, and even then, choose my experience multiplier leads (or not) to rank me, and maybe half way to the next, not just automatically try to max it out. Using a stone to refresh stamina at high rank isn't the worst thing, but it's nice to be able to use them on rolls or box space instead. The longer you can enjoy playing the content you choose to play, with minimal side trips for extra experience, the better. Just something to consider the next time you want to race to the next milestone.

    I dont really run ranking dungeons or if I do Its rarely if ever to crown. Sometimes just get the better rewards that arent crowns. Im using yugi heavy right now who buffs devils which she is not or else shed be a no brainer. I have fagan and meant to use him but feel like his time passed quickly next to yugi. I really have no interest and probably dont even plan to roll in that 10 stone transformation machine. None of them seemed near yugi freska or nere status, at least at first glance. Then again I just realized it would work for nere who buffs balanced. Then again who knows if i will even get her. I have some trade fodder, a couple trips of animated gfe maybe 4 of one or two. People here might be like oh thats alot, but u should totally be keeping at least dupes of everything. I'll probably get some more fodder just hunting nere and freska. Little on the fence about trading for her. Im sure some people here if not alot of people feel the same way. 5 animated cards is alot to fork over unless you absolutely no for sure you will get good use of a card. Then again she is the only card of her kind

    Why can’t I use an assigned helper on a different team?

    Came across a second Omega and wanted to set up two teams, one with the extra as the helper and another with him as a sub.

    But when I go to set him as a sub on a second team slot, he's blocked off because he's a helper on the other team. I made sure he wasn't the helper for the 2nd team.

    Is this a bug or intended?

    Reincarnated Diaochan
