[Review] Samurai Shodown REM Posted: 10 Nov 2019 06:47 AM PST Less than a month after JP, Samurai Shodown is hitting NA on Monday. Here's my 2 cents based off my experience in JP along with various JP youtubers. I'll draw a lot on my initial review in JP but as usual this will be restricted to NA content only. Let's start with a few general comments: ​ Highest value REM as almost every card has a use. I'd dump my stones here if you're new to PAD This maybe more valuable in NA than in JP due to lack of other collabs. As almost every card has a use, I'll be making comments on each card instead: ​ Haomaru Base: Really good sub for any light team especially if you're missing poison resist. The lower CD active also makes a great inherit base - the time buff is really useful later in the dungeon for a kill shot Evo: I personally think this is the best pairing with Tifa for AA3 farming. However, you really want knight due to the higher light orb requirement. Equip: Amazing active for any light team. Tifa teams running Diaochan will find the blind resist redundant but it's still one of the best equips in the game Nakoruru Base: Best bind/awoken clear for red as NA doesn't have Ippo. The HP hit for Raoh teams can be compensated by the new draconia Luo. Great sub for ranger slayer even if awakenings don't match. Evo: Good pairing with Raoh, if you've got Elena then worth investing Equip: Great damage equip for your Alatreon or Suoh Ukyo Base: Great newbie leader with movement time HP/RCV - basically another B&J Evo: The best Velkhana pairing for now but he'll be a great sub for any Manaka (evo) in the future with the team HP awakenings and good damage Equip: NA has lots of finger+ options with MMPR Genjuro Base: Particularly good sub for Ina teams to meet AA2 HP thresholds Evo: Slightly better than Phenom for Ina pairing but only for AA3. AA2's Goemon and Tsubaki eat him for breakfast unfortunately Equip: Haven't found a good use yet other than the tape resist Shiki Honestly haven't even touched her. Kurama Base: Decent sub for GRanger or any wood leader for the amazing movement time. The active is also useful for many end game dungeons for the time buff in addition to the extra damage for Kurama Evo: Much worse leader than on paper. You don't need 700+ ATK multiplier, you'll average around 500. Not worth trying unless you have multiple Zela/Luluna as no skyfalls means you have to use actives for VDP+combo shield spawns Equip: This is the prize of the REM for veterans, jammer resist, <50%, full bind/awoken clear AND cancels unmatchable mechanic. I put this on almost every team I run. Hanzo Base: Best 5* ever - awakenings, active and decent stats. Good on any dark team, particularly great for new players. Great sub for Raoh as well. Rimruru Base: https://youtu.be/Yi8ZlCiZNaw - NA doesn't have Eijun but the same can be done with Manaka once she's out. Extremely consistent AA3 farming team. Evo: pairing with base for above team Equip: High value equip with void attribute absorb on top of blind resist, L and sFUA. Great for almost any team - especially in AA3 Jubei Base: Great way to get resist Evo: medal farming with Saline hat or BVeroah hat. Just keep in mind that the active only hits one target Equip: Great if you missed the equivalent ones in MH (thanks u/visions8 for the correction) Tam Tam Great sub for Raoh for the shield, makes up for lack of dark attribute Equip: Poison resist with 70% shield - decent for many teams Charlotte Base: Wow what an active, great Skuld sub Equip: Good on any water team but probably best for upcoming Manaka teams Tokugawa Base: Great farming sub with low CD orb changer and offensive awakenings. My favorite part of the 7th anniversary stream was watching Kenji and Sam clear Senri Annihilation with Viz Posted: 09 Nov 2019 04:20 PM PST I never dreamed the day would come that the official PAD stream would feature GungHo employees clearing new content with a jammer lead. But you guys did it. And I loved it. The team building, the leader swap, the OHKO against Yomi (and the quick thinking to search for another awoken bind clear), the brilliant selection of Pixel Prompto and the fantastic solve to destroy Senri--all of it was great. Yes, the surprise appearance from YamaP, the 77 stones, and the Samurai Shodown announcement were definitely highlights, but watching Viz teams clear a new Annihilation difficulty dungeon live on stream was easily my favorite part. Micromanaging damage Posted: 10 Nov 2019 11:31 AM PST Wow... Don't mind micromanaging my box , but these dungeons of late are very tedious with controlling damage for a very poor drop rate. 10 times through Keela on the second level for only treasure chests, sloooowwwly working through all the silly absorbs. This is my second rant on very uncreative poorly designed dungeons.
