PSA: Gorfeis and Gorkaos need to be fully awoken for the evolved Gorkaos to spawn

I did it with a 7-awakening regular Gorkaos and it didn't spawn the uvo Gorkaos. Now I know why. You need it fully awoken.

A retrospective look at Sin Dragons / Key Heroes ... in retrospect

    Posted: 08 Jul 2021 02:57 PM PDT

Welcome back Sin Dragons / Key Heroes Gang! I thought I'd give my thoughts about the return of the SDKH event. Going over what I think about the buffs to the cards and their equips. All my thoughts are based on tackling end game dungeons like Shura 2, ASR2 and Shura 3. I'm also considering current powercreep like Naut / Oak and the not so distant powercreep in JP.

These are my opinions and I have no doubt that some people will disagree. I have a lot of experience teambuilding, theory crafting, and running end game dungeons. I have never been opposed to changing my mind, so if you strongly disagree about my opinions, feel free to chat about it in a constructive manner with me in the comments below.

TLDR: The buffs don't do much to bring the Key Heroes back into the meta, but the equipments are amazing. Amylnea may have use for constant orb generation. Ferule is a decent orb generation + burst. 27cd feels too long for these cards. Miya is a nice lead/sub, but not worth chasing if you rolled a lot in the last event. Much of the value in rolling this event may depend on what ex-GFEs you can get from the REM.

    • Miya - Very good leader and sub with some positive and negative aspects. She reminds me very much of a mix of Seina and Ryumei. She has the 2cd type Seina system with a better active, but doesn't VDP like Seina. She has the affinity for making Ls like Ryumei, but doesn't fix movement time and has less effective team HP. Just like Seina and Ryumei, you're forced to manual FUA when dual pairing. Her L damage can reach spectacular levels, but she can't hold a 2x damage cap latent to really abuse that damage and often can't reach those levels when making FUA instead of a heart L. She comes with team HP awakenings, but has terribly low HP herself. This is important because team HP awakenings scale better with high base HP and has diminishing returns the more you add. You'll find yourself struggling to reach over 600k effective health when using multiple cards that have 4,200 health and a leader that has less than 3x effective HP. Having multiple heart L's on the team helps a bit with effective health, but not if you need to also manual FUA. For anyone who hasn't rolled in SDKH before, she'll be an excellent pickup, but I don't think she's chase worthy for the majority of people who already rolled hard in the last event.
    • Gileon - Gileon's buffs are weird and don't really address the reason why he fell out of favor. As a lead, Gileon doesn't add combos, doesn't FUA, and doesn't have RCV. On teambuilding apps Gileon will look like an amazingly tanky lead, but it's fools gold. Both shields are conditional, requiring being over 50% HP and/or making 3 fire combos. Making multiple fire combos clashes heavily with his typical playstyle which is to stack row + combo orbs while matching 10 fire. Those combo orbs are vital for the VDP floors. Gileon's 16x personal damage but no VDP leaves a lot to be desired. The lowered 30->27 transform is still too high for my taste.
    • Gileon Equip - Gileon's equip has excellent awakenings and an excellent active. There's only 3 other equips with SB and 2 team HP and they're all top tier. The 2 fire OE work great on fire teams but they are also great on Oak teams. The active is a full cleric, full heal, unlock, and tri-color board change. The jammers can be converted away for a nice 2/3 1/3 board if using a sub like Rimururu on Oak or Captain Marvel (if we ever get Marvel).
    • Menuit - Still requires making heart crosses. Still only makes hearts on a 2 turn cooldown. The time fix and additional combos on the active aren't enough to warrant use, especially on a card that has a 27 turn cooldown.
    • Menuit Equip - Menuits equip is great and can be argued is even better than Inosuke (Boar) equip on certain teams like Nautilus/Oak who already have high HP, but need help in the RCV department. It's also currently the only equip in the game that fixes all 3 damage void + damage absorb + color absorb, for 2 turns no less.
    • Amylnea - As a lead, I'm not a fan of rainbow leads, especially rainbow leads that require all 5 colors. They just can't stack the damage like a team that utilizes OE + Row + Fruit awakenings. As a sub, the buff to unlock orbs on the active is actually quite good. Nothing is worse than trying to use spinners for orb generation with a bunch of locked orbs. The self system of 2 spinners can provide a perfect board every turn if given enough time. With the lowered transform and unlock added to the active, I can see this card being a very powerful tool for orb generation. I think the best way to abuse this card is with time extend.
    • Amylnea Equip - This equip brings a ton of utility and I can't wait to find a use for it. Unlike the Kali equip, this equip does more than just increase time. The skill boost is going to be great on any modern team. The active skill however is one of the best parts. Time fix, unlock fix, and spinner fix on an incredibly low 5cd active makes for a perfect inherit over your system cards. [Shura 2] FL.2 time debuff, Weejas time debuff + Trail board lock, Nepdra 10t spinners, Schez 15t spinners [Shura 3] Golem time debuff, Ilm spinners, Hezadragon board lock among just a few of Shura 3 issues the Amylnea equip fixes.
    • Ferule - As a lead and as a sub, Ferule looks to be the best of the Key Heroes. As a lead, the shield was very much needed and now brings them up to an effective 3x HP lead. The nullify poison has it's uses against some floors like Okuni in Shura 2, however in Shura 3, I would still bring poison resist to keep my orbs from being messed with. As a sub, Ferule is basically Light Grandis on a lower 27 turn transform. Light teams don't have much in the ways of low CD burst + orb generation, so I think Ferule has a lot of merit.
    • Ferule Equip - When compared to equips like Indra and Ney, much of the value of this equip will depend on if you can make use of the combo orb or SFuA awakenings. The bi-color active skill and burst is pretty cool, but how often will the 13 turn cooldown be able to be charged? The Indra overcharge is often used as pseudo skill boosts. The use of the smaller shield on Ferule's equip will depend on the team and content. Still an overall very good equip, but probably my least favorite of the 5 new equips.
    • Euchs - Just too much work to juggle staying under 50% life for what this lead offers vs other meta leads. This lead shined in Shura 1 where you can often kill without being attacked, but in Shura2/3, taking hits on most floors is all but guaranteed. Healing back up to 60% health can easily be a death sentence. As a sub, 27cd transform is just too long for what it offers. The fact that it only really deals damage while being at <50% makes this card difficult to utilize.
    • Euchs Equip - Like the other 4 equips, this one is also great. 15 turn 2 turn damage/color absorb with almost no drawback is going to be used a lot. Add on the fact that it has a skill boost and under 50% awakening and we have a seriously powerful equip. When taking such large hits in end game dungeons, this can often be an always on 2x damage boost for the owning card. I'll also point out that all signs point to this equip being a powerhouse farming equip.
    • Sin Dragons - None of the buffs for the Sin Dragons tips the needle for me. The dragons are just as good or useless after their respective minor buffs. Greed is still awesome for farming. Wrath is a good cleric for some teams.

    Eiby Drop Rate?

    Posted: 09 Jul 2021 05:31 AM PDT

Anyone got Eiby to drop yet from the Irene dungeon? Ran about 20 times so far and nothing. And just to be clear, if it doesn't drop on floor 1, I'm safe to quit and go again right? (no interest in farming Irenes).
