[JP] Receive four special medals in January. Exchange one for 6-star GFE of your choice

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 03:54 AM PST

Every week throughout January you receive a special medal. Each week features different 6-star GFE and you can exchange for the one you want. If this comes to NA I'm sure a lot of players will be happy to finally get that white whale. PAD Pass get four extra medals.

    EDIT: Added in the lineup.

Week 1 - Red Odin, Blue Odin, Typhon, Ilm, Fujin, Raijin, Amenominakanushi, Kamimusubi

Week 2 - Green Sonia, Blue Sonia, Skuld, Eschamali, Fenrir Viz, Paimon, Yog, Cotton

Week 3 - DMeta, DKali, Scheat, Sherias Roots, Dantalion, Gremory, Ney, Morrigu

Week 4 -Ryune, Kaede, Kanna, Sylvie, Baldin, Aten, Macha

You can also save the medals for the week you want. So for example, if you wanted to, you could get four Atens.

    [Tip] Tips for Shura 2

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 09:47 AM PST

Cleared for the first time yesterday with D.Loki and here are some tips.

    • 1. F4 and F7 are nice spots to stall for skills.

Once you kill the lit or the chimera, the other dudes will do the same attack infinitely. YMMV depending on your team's tankiness, you may need to also kill one of the metal dragons or pengdras.

    • 2.On F1-F8 if you leave one of the enemies alive, it won't attack for a turn and will instead increase its attack by 7x*

This definitely saved me a handful of times when my hearts orbs got changed or I got orb trolled. Keep in mind that this means that you have to kill that enemy the next turn unless you use some kind of shield skill.

*F1 Green Carbuncle, F2 Dragon Flower, F3 Green Goblin, F5 All Ogres, and F8 Dark Ninja are exceptions to this according to PDX

    • 3. Trailokyavijaya has no resolve execute

Keep in mind that the other spawns on F9-F12 do.

    • 4.For F10 Sun Quan you have to be able to deal 5 billion damage against water in 3 turns.

Was curious about what the exact calculation was so here it is.

    • 5. Spots where most teams must activate some kind of shield active. These are unavoidable.

F5 Red ogre when you first bring it to 50% HP

    F10 Sun Quan's first attack

F13 Giles Legato when you bring him below 50% HP for the first time

    • 6. On F13 target the pillars if you need to stall for skills

For when you need to wait for your shield or awoken bind skill for when you bring Giles below 50%

    • 7. Echidna Sara weapon is your best friend

All of the possible spawns on F9-F11 (Except for Wee Jas on F9) have physical typing and F13 Giles Legato has attacker typing. The delay is also nice since a lot of spawns in the dungeon don't have a status shield

    • 8. The PDX data for Sherias Roots in F12 is wrong

Dirty Feather hits you with 9(?) lethal poison orbs not 1.

    • 9. Remove the new JP awakening from cards when calculating damage on apps like PDC

This didn't occur for my D.Loki team but if you plan to use cards like Christmas Gremory on Seina teams then you should remove the awakening on PDC for a more accurate calculation.

I've heard that the new cards coming in the New Years are worse versions of the sun key heroes. I think they are easier to use because of the lower transformation rate. What do y'all think? Should I roll some in this machine? Or should I roll more in the PCGF? Thanks

[Misc] PAD Reddit Demographics Survey Results

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 01:46 PM PST

Had to finish some finals and enjoyed some parts of my holidays so the results have been made rather slowly but I will go ahead and just post the results from the survey here! It's not super professional or beautiful but hopefully it still enlightens you all to some interesting stats about the sub users. Also, I went ahead and deleted some questions that I felt were inappropriate or just confusing on my part and led to not great data (asking about howm any IRL people play and other mobile games that you play). Got some mean answers there tho it's on me lol. Oh and for those unfamiliar with the survey, the answer choices were copy and paste so it's not like I'm giving them names all of a sudden that weren't there before just to clear that part up. The survey closed on November 22, 2020 for refernce's sake. Thanks everyone for filling it out we had n = 361 people complete the survey!

    Q1 What is your gender?

    Male: 312 (86.4%)

    Female: 42 (11.6%)

    Other: 7 (1.9%)

Comments: This very well may be simply the case of "there are no girls on the Internet Reddit" but it wasn't super surprising this sub had a lot more males. I'm curious of what the gender ratio looks like in other places like the FB group or Discord. Also, the nature of the game (RPG, Pokemon-esque) and partially just the fact that it is a game probably really skews it to be more male-heavy for sure (i.e. look at the waifus-to-husbandos ratio).

    Q2 How old are you?

    <=15: 10 (2.8%)

    16-20: 91 (25.2%)

    21-25: 114 (31.6%)

    26-30: 68 (18.8%)

    31-35: 31 (8.6%)

    36-40: 22 (6.1%)

    41-45: 15 (4.2%)

    46-50: 15 (4.2%)

    51+: 5 (1.4%)

Comments: For the most part, not really surprising again, especially given it's Reddit and PAD.

Q3 When did you start PAD?

    2012: 35 (9.7%)

    2013: 83 (23.0%)

    2014: 99 (27.4%)

    2015: 50 (13.9%)

    2016: 49 (13.6%)

    2017: 18 (5.0%)

    2018: 14 (3.9%)

    2019: 9 (2.5%)

    2020: 4 (1.1%)

Comments: So this means (now I'm not sure of the exact date or year) but in the case if our REM was revamped to have no more silvers or farmables near the end of 2016, 88% of us remember days with an awful REM here! We have very few new players which makes sense and I don't know if it tells us more about how good the game is at retaining players or how bad it is at appealing to newer players. It's also just possible that newer players are not as into it as they would be later on and thus don't really need or want to visit the sub for the game.

Q4 Did you take a break at one point that lasted 6 months or more?

    Yes: 199 (55.1%)

    No: 162 (44.9%)

Comments: Actually, this was super surprising because I assumed a heavy majority would be like me who played almost everyday or at least didn't take a huge break. Now, the definition of a "huge" break is obviously arbitrary and I just kinda assumed 6 months (half a year) would be considered "significant." I guess I could've also asked how many times this break happened but for now, I think this is still an interesting thing to see.

Q5 How many crowns do you have?

First, while the vast majority answered with an exact number, there were some who gave me "~" and "?"s and even some who gave me impossible numbers like 85 (unless you meant JP which kinda screws it up but honestly that's more on me than you since I wasn't clear or maybe you're just trolling idk). I did include those results as well so you can rest well knowing you are slightly higher up in the echelons than reported below. Speaking of which, maybe I should have asked how many people had alts or JP accounts damn it. Also, I'm pretty sure no one wants to see the thread bombarded with 85 different rows so I'll just split the results to how I see fit. You can def suggest me other ways to do it.

I'm sure many are curious of how many just don't give a single damn about ranking dungeons including the grinding REMdra ones which we have 90 out of 361 (24.9%) who responded "0."

So, how many presumably only went for the grinding ones? (Rather a big disclaimer: It's definitely likely there are combos like grinding for two of the events and got the other two or so from "normal" rankings). Since we had 9 of these, 1-9 combined we had 182 out of 361 (50.4%).

Now back to the arbitrary cutoffs, people who are rather serious about ranking (10-25 crowns) were 45 (12.5%) while those who were pretty darn serious about it (26-50 crowns) were 28 (7.8%). Finally, those overachievers with more than 50 crowns were 15 (4.2%).

So hey, you have somewhat of an idea of how you stand amongst perhaps the brightest and most dedicated community of players of NA PAD so even in a group like this, nearly 3/4 of people are less to not serious about crowning. I will also release a tally of full results here so if you're curious of where exactly you stand, you can look it up here ;). https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q3BUdo5X4QdQVa9TKntv6RNKWbpMOwllvvSE_GNnp2Q/edit?usp=sharing

    Q6 IAP (In-App Purchase) Status

Again, arbitrary names for categories but is a good ballpark of where you stand in regards to spending. Hopefully maybe one day, I'll have more clearer and efficient brackets.

Completely NIAP (Total Money Spent: $0): 65 (18.0%)

    Only buy $1/$2 Packs ($1-100): 102 (28.3%)

    Buy value packs when I can ($101-500): 113 (31.3%)

Spend on non-deal gem packs for more rolls ($501-2000): 33 (9.1%)

Splurge pretty often for many events ($2001-5000): 29 (8.0%)

    A true whale! ($5001+): 19 (5.3%)

Comments: Depending on how you look at it, it is both surprising and unsurprising. PAD Reddit tends to be rather more serious and more likely to spend thuswise but the fact that only 18% is completely NIAP was kind of interesting. Also, of the 19 people who are self-proclaimed true whales with over $5000 spent I'm almost positive there are huge degrees with possibly those who have spent well over four times that number. We should all thank them for the continued servers here.

Q7 How much do you play? (aka how often do you ignore their play 1 hour a day "tip")

Don't even play the game (Avg hours per week: 0): 5 (1.4%)

Only login for daily bonus and dungeons (0-1): 35 (9.7%) wouldn't surprise me if it's even just the former as I know having to physically enter the dungeon can be a bit too much work for some

Play somewhat casually clearing new descends and arenas (1-5): 133 (36.8%)

Play a bit more than casually and farm arenas and/or events (5-10): 134 (37.1%)

Never let a single stamina go to waste (10+): 54 (15.0%)

Comments: I can definitely see how the categories and the proposed avg hours per week can clash with each other but these are the results regardless. I'm very curious about those 5 people who don't even play the game lol. I feel the game isn't as big or built upon another existing universe like FEH who may know about or play the main series but don't play the mobile game but still visit the sub regardless to do the same here. It looks like only 15% actually consciously spends all their stamina which to be fair is pretty hard to do consistently and stay motivated outside of events like SDKH or the GH Collab where you can farm easy piis so much respect to those players.

Q8 Content Cleared Note: This is well before the introduction of Shura 2 on NA.

    A1: 350 (97.0%)

    A2: 342 (94.7%)

    A3: 335 (92.8%)

    A4: 319 (88.4%)

    A5: 306 (84.8%)

    A6: 241 (66.8%)

    AA1: 309 (85.6%)

    AA2: 284 (78.7%)

    AA3: 253 (70.1%)

    AA4: 180 (49.9%)

    Col1: 259 (71.7%)

    Col2: 153 (42.4%)

Complete Annihilation Endless Corridors: 83 (23.0%)

    Alt. Shura1: 141 (39.1%)

Comments: It's pretty clear most people here are mid-to-high or higher in the game which makes sense especially with the given start year. Also, nearly 40% have already cleared alt. shura 1 which was interesting to see as well. The least cleared content was the last endless corridors which could be because it's actually hard or because there really isn't a reward besides one gem for the first clear.

Q9 Which PAD resources do you use? RIP DadGuide, PADGuide, MiruBot, etc.

    Off. FB Page: 134 (37.7%)

    Off. NA Website: 138 (38.9%)

FB PAD Group: 40 (11.3%) Pretty low overlap between players at least from Reddit's end

    Ilmina.com: 245 (69.0%)

    PAD Protic: 266 (74.9%)

    PADX: 309 (87.0%)

    Main PAD Discord: 135 (38.0%)

    Smaller PAD Discords: 54 (15.2%)

    JP Resources: 84 (23.7%)

These were the given choices but you could suggest more (and I'm super sorry if I forgot about a few! These were the seemingly most popular but I think YouTube should have been another option). There was a good chunk who said Reddit lol. I think Tsubotki was rather new but if there is another survey later, that will definitely be included! PAD DB and Mantastic were the other two with a lot of suggestions! All fantastic sources! :)

Q10 What is the main reason you play PAD?

Collect aesthetic cards (waifus, husbandos, dragons): 175 (48.5%)

Love the puzzle gameplay: 277 (76.7%)

    Love to teambuild: 228 (63.2%)

    Collect rare cards: 160 (44.3%)

Good way to spend free time: 199 (55.1%)

And then some rather intersting reasons that you can check out for yourself...

    Wrap-up

Hopefully it lets you kinda scale how we stand as a sub. I expected a lot less than 361 responses so again, thanks for that! Also, here's the link for the full results so you can laugh at some of the responses or calculate an exact percentile for yourself or maybe do your own analysis: https://forms.gle/vciHmraYorqxbeXB6

Tsubotki updates & improvements post #10, Merry Christmas edition!

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 02:53 PM PST

    Updates

    • We added the new combo-count team-boost awakenings!
    • We HUGELY improved performance of a thing in the channelmirror cog, which has improved responsiveness of the emoji-clicking in ^id by like 3-4x. It's WAAAAAAAY faster now!!!
    • We added an alias of ^ans that executes ^calc ans, so e.g. you can do ^calc 2+2 then ^ans + 2 and the final result will be 6. Useful if you are doing button calculations etc!
    • ^pricecheck data is (mostly) complete! You can run for example ^pricecheck hera ur to get an estimation of the plus-point value of trading a hera ur gem! HUGE shoutout to Lumon for entering all of this data!!!
    • Using ^feedback now gives you a clickable link to join the Tsubaki server. The link is https://discord.gg/QCRxNtC, please do not use ^feedback just to check this. Here is a screenshot of how it looks so that your curiosity can be stated.

    Donor-only cosmetic feature!!

If you donate you can set ^idset embedcolor to a bunch of values, including random! (random will be a different random color each time you execute an ^id command) (obviously random is the best)

(To get the donor-only feature, make sure you connect Patreon to your discord account and join our Tsubaki server - which you should join regardless because we post development updates etc here!)

    Bugfixes

    • Fixed a bug where super awakenings were duplicated when some row awakenings were removed post-row awakening buff
    • Fixed a bug where using the command ^dumpmsg with an invalid message id returned an unfriendly error instead of a friendly one

    Backend stuff

    • We refactored the tsutils library substantially, to make the super-awesome id color-changing thing possible, and also because we wanted to make a bunch of improvements to it

    Removals

    • We removed the Chronomagia cog, RIP Chronomagia (did you even know we had a Chronomagia cog?)

    Links to stuff!

    Some 3pa2 Tips from a 3p Regular

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 03:41 PM PST

3pa2, also known as "Painting of the Celestial Sphere," is a sub-dungeon in the multiplayer arenas, and is also probably one of the most popular 3p dungeons besides the event-based descends or collabs. The difficulty of the dungeon isn't remarkably hard compared to recent dungeons, and the rewards are quite nice, boasting 1.8 - 2 million xp and 55 + points per clear at only 55 stamina. In case you aren't very familiar with this dungeon, here are some tips to make the overall experience more enjoyable.

    (From highest to lowest priority)

    1. BRING POISON AND BLIND RESIST
The sorceresses on F8 and Swallowtail on F9 are unavoidable and WILL mess up your room if no resists are brought. Poison is probably a higher priority than blind since Swallowtail's full poison board can be lethal, but bring both anyways. Just because your lead makes you poison-immune doesn't mean the other two players are. Also, I've seen a fair amount of players attempt to kill Swallowtail in one turn to avoid the full poison board. If you really think you can reliably do over 1 billion damage in one turn, go ahead, but I would still bring resists. (Jammer res is actually not needed unless you run into Cinderella's attack on death or fail to one-shot certain floors like Izanami.)
    2. Bring a damage and attribute absorption void skill
Scheat and Eschamali on F12 have around 300 million hp and res, while also having damage absorb and attribute absorb respectively. It's pretty much impossible to get around or stall out the damage absorb with any team without bringing the necessary actives. Eschmali's attribute absorb is more lenient as she only absorbs light and dark, so make sure to check your sub-attribute order if you're bringing a fire/water/wood-based team. Xuanzang on F7 also has light/dark absorption for 3 turns but he can be dealt with a lot more easily.
    3. Other regular components needed on most teams
Awoken bind clear, bind resist, FUA, personal damage, etc. 3pa2 by no means is "easy," especially to newer players with less developed boxes, but it's also fairly outdated compared to more recent dungeons, and doesn't contain the more annoying mechanics.
    4. Communicate!
One of the most important parts of anything multiplayer-related and one of PAD's biggest flaws in 3p is the lack of communication. Be familiar with the signals to pass with the "Nice!" button at the top to help both your teammates and yourself!

Even if you are a less-experienced player, following these tips will greatly boost the experience for everyone. Seeing players lacking crucial parts like resists really isn't cool as it either forces others to waste actives in order to not die, or disconnect for the sake of preservation. Please spread this to anyone that's running this dungeon if they don't use this platform very often. I'll also be leaving some more detailed notes in the comments as they're a lot less relevant. If any of you guys see me in 3p, feel free to hit me with a "Nice!"
